Adam Barsby was born in Leicester in 1969, he showed an early artistic talent which would eventually lead him to graduate from Kent Institute of Art and Design in Maidstone with a First Class Honours Degree. Following his graduation in 1992 Adam worked on several freelance projects for Art Galleries and magazines whilst developing his own style of work.

In 1996 he decided to commit himself to painting on a full time basis. His confidence was soon to be rewarded by invitations to exhibit at many prestigious galleries throughout the UK and the highly successful launch of his range of limited editions and original silkscreen prints.

Adam Barsby first major London Exhibition was held at Harrods Picture Gallery in June 1998. Not only was it enjoyed by a large number of specially invited guests but the show was a resounding success. He draws his inspiration from many sources, oceans and coastlines being particularly appealing due to their romantic nature. His unique view of the world, his simple stylised images using rich colours, texture and thought provoking narratives, continue to take the art world by storm.

This young artist’s tremendous talent has gaining him the prestigious John Solomon Trophy for Best Selling artist of 1998 and his latest accolade was to be awarded the title of Best Up And Coming Artist for 1999 by the Fine Art Trade Guild. With further shows planned and new limited editions and silkscreens available, the future does indeed look very exciting for this talented artist. "There is a tranquillity in my pictures which stems from a combination of inherent simplicity and lyrical narrative.
