Born in Singapore in 1955, Pip describes himself as a self taught artist but attributes his natural talent to the artistic family background.

After a lengthy career in the civil service Pip finally decided to turn his hobby into a profession. After travelling extensively, he now resides in Hampshire where he works tirelessly for various wildlife groups.

Working mainly in oil, Pip’s originals have been outstandingly popular and his success has enabled him to raise thousands of pounds for various conservation concerns including the Epulu Akapi Game Reserve Appeal in Zaire and Save the Tigers.

His paintings are regularly sold at Christie’s and Sotheby’s with keen bidding often pushing prices well over their pre-sale estimates.

In January 1999 he traveled to Tanzania to study the wildlife in their natural habitats and upon his return he was the subject of several Meridian TV broadcasts and featured in the national newspaper articles. Pip was also interviewed by BBC Radio Solent regarding his appointment as the first artist in residence at Marwell Zoological Park.

Pip has demonstrated, lectured and taught painting techniques for the last 3 years, running the popular "Brush with Wildlife" workshops at Marwell where he is also the founder and chairman of the Marwell Zoo Art Society.

"Wildlife painting is my passion but the fact that I am able to give something back to the subjects I paint is the most important element for me," he says.
