Richard Pargeter

Richard was brought up in the Midlands. His love of art developed early and he was fortunate that he also possessed the talent to develop his passion into a career.

Richard graduated from the University of Central England with a First Class Honours degree in visual communication where he specialised in illustration. Having painted for pleasure throughout his time at college it seemed a natural course to move straight into freelance work. Richard’s determination was soon rewarded with commissions for children’s books and numerous other projects including the selection of his work for the New Designers Exhibition in London and Images 24 an exhibition which opened at the Royal College of Art and then toured the country at selected galleries.

As well as his painting and illustration work Richard also enjoys working as a lecturer at various Institutions of Art and Design. However his first love will always be painting, and now he devotes the majority of his time to creating evocative and dramatic landscapes that captivate the viewer.

Preferring to work with acrylics on paper he particularly likes to bring a certain mood or atmosphere to his pieces through the use of a rich and bold colour pallet using dabs of paint to create the impression of detail.

His numerous exhibitions have provided him with a wealth of new ideas and we are sure that this bright, young and dynamic talent has without doubt a great future.
